Did you know that two people look at the same thing and see it totally differently? There are people who can hear the same story, or experience the same event, and come to completely different conclusions.
There are a lot of negative things happening in the world today and how you respond to them is going to be determined by how you see things—your worldview.
Whether you know it or not, everyone has a worldview—a lens through which you see the world. It is based on your own perspective, the way you process things, and your experiences.
What Is a Worldview?
The classic example of competing worldviews is between optimists and pessimists. Optimists typically view the world in a positive light while pessimists tend to see things in a negative light. If you take a drinking glass and fill it halfway with water, an optimist will look at it as half full while the pessimist will see it as half empty.
Each of us sees things based on what we believe. Only a small percentage of people, including Christians, have a biblical worldview. The reason that society is going in a certain direction is because people have departed from having a godly perspective on things.
How important is a biblical worldview? It can be the difference between life and death.
A biblical worldview strengthens your faith, gives you something to stand on when attacks come, and enables you to walk in victory.
Building on God’s Word
A solid biblical worldview begins with believing the Bible is the inspired, accurate Word of God. Jesus said that we could weather any storm if we build our lives on the firm foundation of His Word (Matt. 7:24-27).
This nation has survived wars, economic depressions, and many other serious challenges because it was founded on biblical values. No matter what has come America’s way, our foundational principles have held true.
A biblical worldview includes believing that God is the Creator of mankind and that He has a purpose for us. God made mankind, male and female, and delegated authority to us as stewards over all He created (Gen. 1:26-28).
Leftists and LGBTQ activists are attacking God’s design for gender and marriage. Christians need to be able to respond from God’s Word and uphold the traditional values that made this nation great.
Believing God is good and having an understanding of His true nature is also part of a biblical worldview. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but God sent Jesus so we could have an abundant life (John 10:10) and be a blessing to other people.
Many critics of free enterprise have called for more government regulation and “equity,” which is just cover for socialism and the redistribution of wealth. Following biblical principles has made this nation the most prosperous in the world, and Christians should protect equal opportunity for all.
